Shameem Syed-Olive Community Services

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Shameem for her incredible service and dedication to Olive Community Services. As a valued Olive Foundation board member, she has been volunteering her time and efforts to support Olive Community Services for an impressive 8 years, generously dedicating 8-20 hours every week.

Shameem is a resident of Fullerton, for over 40 years and has volunteered for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and local elementary schools. In her role at Olive, Shameem plays a key role in coordinating events and providing crucial support to the Programs Manager, ensuring that weekly programs run smoothly and successfully.

Her commitment and assistance make a world of difference, enabling the programs to thrive and serve the community effectively. She also volunteers as the Olive Base (Olive office) manager. Her passion for environmental sustainability is also evident in her work with Olive Rack, our gently used clothing store. Through her efforts, she actively promotes the reduction of fast fashion by helping run the store and supporting volunteers to ensure its success.

Her dedication to reducing waste and encouraging recycling is truly inspiring. In addition to her work with Olive Rack, Shameem is deeply involved in the Olive Friends program. She regularly visits 1-2 homebound seniors each month, providing companionship and alleviating their loneliness. Through these visits and regular phone calls, Shameem brings comfort, joy, and a sense of connection to those who may otherwise feel isolated. We are incredibly grateful to Shameem for her unwavering dedication, kindness, and tireless service. Her contributions are invaluable, and we are truly fortunate to have her as a part of the Olive family.

Thank you, Shameem, for all you do!
