IMPACT2030 is a private sector led initiative, in collaboration with the United Nations, focused on the achievement of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Its unique mission is three-fold:
- ACTIVATE human capital through employee volunteer programs
- COLLABORATE across sectors and industries to maximize opportunities to effectively deploy and scale resources
- MEASURE to capture the impact of employee volunteers on the SDGs.
For the first time in its five years, the Corporate Volunteer Council of Orange County is taking the bold step to align with a cause and ACTIVATE. It is creating an action team addressing SDG 2 – No Hunger.
Why SDG2? Food insecurity is a pressing need in Orange County, but is also an issue that can be addressed via volunteerism. Proper nutrition is the cornerstone of education, healthcare and workforce stability. Regardless of a company’s giving goals, SDG2 likely aligns with those priorities.
The CVCOC wants to lead the way. The first step is to learn more. At the next meeting, on March 13th, the CVCOC will host a panel presentation with Key Orange County Food Security Stakeholders. Because of the bold initiative, the CVCOC wants to increase the number of companies participating.
