What is the OneOC Listening Tour all about?

Published: May 8, 2018

Last year, OneOC launched a nonprofit outreach campaign called, “OneOC Listening Tours,” where a “street team” made up of OneOC staff went out into the community and met with more than 70 nonprofits in Orange County. The goal of the Tours was to listen and learn about the nonprofits’ missions, priorities, successes, challenges, and explore specific ways in which OneOC can support them. The tours were such a success, that we decided to continue this outreach effort, not as a campaign, but as part of our mission of “accelerating nonprofit success.” OneOC is more than just our four walls and we are excited to continue “hitting the streets” to meet with local nonprofits.

Check out some of our amazing Listening Tours from the past month, and follow our visit on Facebook #OneOnOneOC & #OneOCListeningTour.

OneOC would appreciate the opportunity to come out and meet with your team! We, as an organization, can learn so much about the needs of nonprofits by simply getting out there and listening to YOU-the very heart of the nonprofit sector! Smile & Gratitude Foundation

OneOC had a great Listening Tour with a nonprofit start-up, Smile & Gratitude Foundation’s founder Eileen Pheland! She was excited to share her new book, “The Brighter Side of Homelessness.” The message within her book, and as her foreword states, is, “The key to fulfillment and satisfaction in life is a personal relationship with our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Ambassadors of Compassion / Support the Enlisted Project (STEP)

OneOC also met with with James Christie from Lift of America (Ambassadors of Compassion) and Shannon Buhrmaster of Support the Enlisted Project (STEP) during OneOC’s Listening Tours! Both of these nonprofits are doing such amazing mission work to support their clients! We look forward to working with them through OneOC’s membership program in the coming year!

Vietnamese American Cancer Foundation (VACF)

Cancer is the #1 cause of death in the Vietnamese community. VACF’s Board of Directors, staff and volunteers are working hard to save lives through community outreach, education, prevention & support after diagnosis, treatment & surgery. What an incredible group of inspiring and motivating individuals!

Give For a Smile

Executive Director & Founder, Adriana Jimenez is the best representative of her nonprofit, Give For A Smile, because she has the best smile ever! We had a great conversation about their future plans to offer services for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease and how OneOC can help!

Need4Bridges

“Anyone has the potential to be great if only they would think it so.” Edward Clark, Founder of Need4Bridges.

OneOC had great Listening Tour with the team at Need4Bridges and learned about their mission to help youth and individuals who have been directly or indirectly impacted by incarceration. They offer a program called PREVENT for youth ages 11-15 and a re-Entry Mentorship program. Congratulations on obtaining your new 501c3 Nonprofit status! You are now “official”!

The Ebell Society

OneOC had a fantastic Listening Tour with the members of The Ebell Society at the historic Ebell Clubhouse in Santa Ana. They have been actively serving their community since 1894 & in this beautiful building since 1924! Member dues are only $50 annually and their venue is available for special events. Check out their website to learn more
