The Art of Data-Driven Storytelling: Communicating the Right Message to Stakeholders (2021)

Sharing your program's impact story can be challenging. To be successful, it is critical that you are able to identify your different stakeholders and then communicate your program story in a way that aligns with the interests and priorities of your funders. Too often organizations focus on their outputs, which demonstrate the reach of their program but do not examine how participants and the community have changed as a result of the program. To win funding, your nonprofit must be able to highlight how your program is different and making meaningful changes.

In this workshop, we will teach you:
  • How to identify the different stakeholders you report to and their interests.
  • The different mediums that can be used for various types of stakeholders
  • The three critical elements of storytelling
  • How to connect your storytelling to your program vision
  • How to effectively communicate your results through visualizations and narrative format.
