2023 Spirit of Volunteerism Honoree

Published: March 22, 2023

Honoree’s Name: Katherine Vu

Why This Volunteer is Extraordinary:

Katherine Vu is the 1st VP, Deputy CRA Officer at Pacific Premier Bank. But at Templo Calvario Community Development Corporation, Katherine is family and one of our very own. Katherine has been volunteering at Templo Calvario CDC for the past seven years in various capacities that have elevated our organization. Katherine has a way of being excellent at anything that she is part of and puts her hands on. Whether she’s organizing a team of volunteers, running registration at an event, speaking at career day, or leading a meeting as the Co-Chair of our fundraising dinner, you can be assured that her whole heart and attention are in it. Over the past six years, Katherine has helped us raise over $250,000 through our Annual Empowering Lives Dinner. These funds have been instrumental in helping us to continue serving the youth and families of Santa Ana; especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. What’s amazing about Katherine is that she not only volunteers with our organization but also generously gives her time to other causes and nonprofit boards. Katherine’s passion for seeing underserved youth and families live to their fullest potential is a driving force in all she does. Her strong work ethic coupled with her amazing ability to make people feel like they matter makes working alongside her a true joy! Templo Calvario CDC has grown and has succeeded in ways that point directly back to Katherine’s involvement through her time, talent, and treasure. Katherine is the type of volunteer and friend that every organization dreams of having. We are so thankful for Katherine’s heart and willingness to make a difference; she is truly deserving of this recognition!
