Carolyn joined OneOC in 2020 with a career in the non-profit and human services sector that spans over 25 years in program and event management, fundraising, community engagement and volunteer coordination. She holds a BA Degree in Sociology from the University of Wollongong and an Associate Diploma in Community Studies (Youth Work) from the University of Western Sydney,
Carolyn was born and raised in Sydney, Australia and moved to Orange County in 2005. Prior to moving to the U.S she worked in adolescent support services for 15 years focusing on youth housing, unemployment, training, health, advocacy, recreation and arts. For 8 years she supported the HIV/AIDS impacted community here in Orange County working for Shanti Orange County and Radiant Health Centers focusing on service provision, volunteer management, community outreach and fundraising event management including OC AIDS Walk.
Carolyn also served the breast cancer impacted community for 5 years in her role with Susan G. Komen Orange County where she facilitated broad community engagement with the organization and managed 1,600 volunteers annually for 5 consecutive Race for the Cure events. Carolyn is passionate about community development through grass-roots activism, participation, education, empowerment, and partnership. She strives to make a positive impact on the people she interacts with through her work, and the communities she serves.
