Honoree’s Name: Gregory Kennedy

Award Category: Hunger & Homelessness

Why This Volunteer is Extraordinary:

Gregory Kennedy

Dr. Gregory Kennedy has dedicated his expertise as a pediatrician and his compassionate heart to strengthening our children’s program. Dr. Greg first partnered with Illumination Foundation by facilitating “Mini Medical School” classes with a different theme each month around the human body. He makes every lesson fun, engaging, and interactive.

As our children and parents were adjusting to virtual learning, nothing had stopped Dr. Greg from making an impact! In fact, with the help from his partnerships with American Academy of Pediatrics, CHOC Children’s Child Life Program, and Reach Out and Read, the children in our Family Emergency Homes have the opportunity to participate in weekly Virtual Literacy Classes. We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Greg for lending us his most valuable resource – his time and expertise – to provide this invaluable gift to the children and families we serve.
