Honoree’s Name: Ivy Stein

Award Category: ENRICH

Why This Volunteer is Extraordinary:

Ivy Stein is a committed and dedicated High School Inc. Volunteer Leader. Ivy serves on the High School Inc. Fund Development Committee. As a community volunteer, Ivy dedicates her time in raising necessary funds to support the work of High School Inc. In addition, in the midst of the pandemic, like many, our students were confused and lacked confidence in their future. Some are providing care for their families and helping to meet basic needs, all while trying to sustain remote learning. Ivy heroically stepped in and pulled together a group of volunteers who spearheaded the creation of our one-on-one mentoring program, where a business mentor is paired with either one or a small group of students. By providing a more intimate setting for our students, they were more engaged in the zoom setting, turning on their video camera and building a stronger trust with their mentors. Ivy’s selfless concern for the well-being of others is truly valued through her shared time, talent, and financial contributions to High School Inc. We are proud to honor Ivy as one our “Everyday Heroes” as the 2021 OneOC Spirit of Volunteerism.
