2023 Spirit of Volunteerism Honoree

Published: March 27, 2023

Honoree’s Name: Leslie Hinkle

Why This Volunteer is Extraordinary:

Action Alliance provides sober housing to homeless individuals struggling with substance abuse and trying to change their lives. Leslie has been an instrumental part of our organization. She has volunteered to mentor over two thousand women on their journey to be free of the bondage of addiction while becoming self-supporting through their own contributions. Leslie has helped these women, find employment, navigate legal issues, reunite with their families, and most importantly, stay sober under her roof. She has led by example and just reached a milestone of 10 years of continuous sobriety herself. She has gone above and beyond to help those that have suffered from domestic abuse and mental illness by fielding calls for a NAMI hotline. We are so proud of all she has done to help the women that have come through Action Alliance over the past 9 years.
